Climate Partnership of Russia invites you to a roundtable discussion "Carbon credits and green attributes: effective tools or unnecessary costs"

Carbon regulation in Russia is rapidly developing, as the country moves from isolated climate initiatives and regional experiments to the creation of a fully-fledged market infrastructure. Trading carbon units and green attributes is becoming an important tool for achieving national development goals and effectively implementing climate strategies for both businesses and regions.

Along the way, the market faces numerous challenges: insufficient demand, excess supply, the need to comply with evolving international standards, and questions about the economic viability of carbon credits and green attributes. New assets are becoming real financial liabilities, requiring increasingly comprehensive legal support and in-depth expert assessment.

The roundtable, organized jointly with the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Association of Managers, will take place on May 29 at 3:00 PM.

Topics for discussion:
1. Experience in trading in green attributes and green goods in various sectors of the economy
2. Carbon credit registry: trading on regulated and voluntary markets
3. Regional climate experiment: experience of trading in CU and quota fulfillment units in the Sakhalin Oblast in 2026
4. The role of the financial sector: international and Russian experience in trading attributes and UEs
5. Analytical assessment of the use of Russian carbon units
6. Exchange infrastructure and liquidity of the carbon market
